Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough

Some of the best advice I’ve received while in the Digital Sales rotation is, “Make your face available, and hold yourself accountable.”

After one month, and the midway point of my rotation in Digital Sales, I can successfully say that I have been doing my best to fulfill that quote. I am still learning more and more every day, and constantly grasping something new, but my main goal has been to become dependable and successful. In order to do that, I have walked through the entire department, making appointments with each Sales Manager and Account Executives so that I can learn more about them as people, workers, and offer any type of assistance I might be able to extend to them. With that said, I have received multiple projects, lots of conversation, and quite possibly the beginnings of relationships that I can keep building in order to gain trust and thrive in the Digital Sales department. I always try to stay busy, have a sense of urgency, and be as approachable and helpful as possible. The only way to gain respect is to give respect. In the fast-paced world of the media, I know it’s very easy to get bogged down and feel like you’re constantly running to keep up. But don’t let that happen. Stay one step ahead of the curve by constantly learning, evolving, and doing the absolute best you can.

So, all of you future Digital Media Associates, I am going to give you the same nugget I have been given. Don’t stop until you get enough. And by that, I mean don’t ever think you are done learning. You can always do more. You can always do better. You can always do well.

In the DTP, you’ve got to own it. You made it this far. It’s time to shine. So, shine on, future DMA’s. Shine on.
